After a thirty minute drive of majestic mountain roads, we arrived in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. A buzzing little town which I'm sure is a skiing mecca in winter.
We took a cable car into the skies, and then another into what felt like the heavens. 2525m to the top of the Brévent mountain, to look down on Chamonix and across and up at Mont-Blanc.
From lying in the sun besides Lake Como yesterday, today gave us snow on top of the world. It was just so beautiful, a word I'm far over-using in this blog I know, but it was true. It was stunning, it was breath-taking. Words aren't enough. You couldn't do anything but just stop and stare. So that's what we did, we looked and we took too many pictures and we were very thankful that we had the opportunity to be there and to see it.
These are just few of my favourites, taken on my phone.
We had lunch in the skies with another view I will never forget.
It was incredible and I will never forget it. But we had a long drive ahead of us so I blew it a kiss and carried on our journey.
We drove until the mountains wore themselves out and melted into vineyards again.
Tonight we are back in Nitry, it's hot, humid and we're hungry ..
Speak to you tomorrow all.
